Chelsea FC vs Manchester United FC Match Review

On the 19th of January in Stamford Bridge in London Chelsea hosted the under performing Manchester United. This match was a huge match for both clubs but, in my opinion, the 3 points were more valuable to Manchester United because if they were to claim all 3 points they would be in with a good shot of a top 4 spot and be closer to leaders Arsenal.

New Chelsea boy Nemanja Matic was on the bench for the start. The game began and within the first few minutes Chelsea were on top and they were rewarded in the 17th mionute thanks to a goal from Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o, the big Cameroon man cut inside from the right and rifled a shot which deflected off of englishman Michael Carrick. Chelsea were 2-0 up on the stroke of half-time thanks to Eto'o again. A corner was whipped in by Willian and it was headed back out only to be headed back towards Belgian playmaker Eden Hazard who flicked the ball into the path of the on-running englishman Gary Cahill and the big centre back played the ball across the goal for Eto'o to slot the ball in past Spaniard David De Gea.

The teams came out in the second half and within four minutes Chelsea wrapped the game up thanks to Eto'o yet again, the Cameroon grabbing his first Chelsea hat-trick. Willian whipped in a corner and Gary Cahill headed towards goal only for Eto'o to tap in at the back post. Later on United had a glimmer of hope but it was to little to late as englishman Phil Jones scuffed a shot across the goal and little Mexican Javier Hernandez (Chicarito) scored from on the line. To add to United's misery United captain and Serbian international Nemanja Vidic lunged in on Eden Hazard and recieved a straight red card and Brazilian right-back Rafael Da Silva was lucky to stay on the pitch after only recieving a yellow card for diving in with teo feet on Gary Cahill.

Full time score: Chelsea 3-1 Manchester United.
